Spanish producers and exporters of stone fruit can now export to South Africa, according to an agreement signed recently between the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture Food and Environment (MAGRAMA), and the South African Department of Agriculture, Services Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF), FreshPlaza.com reports. 
Charles Moitui and Sanjay Bavikatte each received a Doctorate of Philosophy in Private Law at the University of Cape Town (UCT) June graduation ceremony, for research contributing to regulating international law on genetically modified plants and protecting traditional indigenous communities' tenure patterns, respectively. 
"For sustainable food production and optimal resource utilisation, we need a land reform model by which a symbiotic relationship can be developed between successful commercial farmers and new entrants as well as small-scale farmers," said Johannes Möller, president of Agri SA.
