The original Baloyi Makarapa will be hitting the
commercial market from a new home this month, as corporates rally behind the maker of football-fan safety headgear in the run-up to the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Alfred Baloyi's initiative has come a long way in 30 years since its inception in a tiny home-based workshop, with the new Makarapa manufacturing 'headquarters' situated quite fittingly in Wynberg, Sandton, opposite Innisfree Park fan zone.
Another boost for black-owned businesses comes with the
launch of Cyril Ramaphosa's Black Pages - a definitive directory to black-owned SMMEs. Viva, South Africa, viva!
