Good news - the retail industry is expected to grow clear of the recession this year, according to the
forecast from the Bureau of Market Research. But while the 2010 FIFA World Cup is likely to boost the sector, the report says it could also result in temporary inflationary pressure. On the upside for football fans, the Local Organising Committee says that it's looking at ways to make it
easier for South Africans to get tickets to matches. This comes after numerous complaints that the current application process is just too complicated. Apart from the sales process review, there's the addition of another sales phase, however this will only cater to supporters of the participating member associations. To those who are still waiting on the results from the third sales phase or hoping to get their hands on over-the-counter tickets from April - good luck!
