Early Beginnings
In a small community of Igwuruta, a sub-culture of the Ikwere nation, buried in the Niger-Delta heartland of Rivers State Nigeria, in the 1980s, a little boy was growing up. His grandfather was the community chief. The talking drum, town-criers, dancing men and women were part of daily life. His Royal Highness Eze Chief B.W. Olocha would often contend with his little grandson, who, like the famous rug-rat, crawls around the palace, especially at meetings. The grandson will soak up the musical renditions that punctuate the meetings and would finish up a traditional recital before the principal singer strikes the last note. That grandson is Chika Uche (a.k.a. Dudu) a Belgian based Producer, Director and Actor. The exposure of Chika, to these forms of creative and performing arts made acting and creativity a way of life for the youngster.
