I started working on a casual basis at the family swimming pool shop (The Pool Place) in 2002, at the age of 14. It is here that I started learning about interaction with customers and running a retail and service store, as well as the ability of time management through studies and work.
After matriculating in 2005, I sought new experience in April 2006 with LifeStudios as a photographer, diary manager and photo editor. This position also included facilitating sales of the final product. I excelled at this position through my ability to exude enthusiasm to clients and making the experience pleasurable in order for this to reflect in the photographs.
Due to family responsibilities, I returned to The Pool Place in April 2007 on a full time basis in order to manage the business. It is during this time that I acquired the knowledge of running a small business. This involved managing staff, ensuring customer satisfaction, bookkeeping and product knowledge and stock control etc.
In January 2010, I felt the need to exercise my creativity and started studying makeup artistry for special effects, theatre, avant-garde and beauty, whilst working half day at The Pool Place. I continued maintaining my responsibilities as the manager of The Pool Place during the 6 month course at The Make-up Issue. I excelled at this, receiving the highest marks in my class when awarded my certificate.
I returned to The Pool Place in July 2010 on a full time basis, whilst performing freelance work as a makeup artist until January 2011. I was involved in several different projects, including Fashion Week, various shoots and private events such as Matric Farewells etc.
Due to increasing accountabilities at The Pool Place, I decided to focus my attention on ensuring the growth and development of the store. I was still successfully running all elements of the business until July 2015 when I relocated to Somerset West.
I have strong product knowledge and relationship-building skills, having had an existing client base that I dealt with regularly. I work hard to build relationships with new and prospective clients and makes sure that all needs are met by striving to provide outstanding service at all times to ensure constant customer conversion and satisfaction.
I am a hard-working, energetic and a customer service focused individual. I am self-directed, versatile in applying myself to any task to ensure success is achieved, remaining result and task-orientated at all times. I am a dedicated, hands-on individual who is service driven and always reliable.
