I have been a musician and teacher of classical singing and piano for most of my career. In addition to obtaining LTCL (Singing) and LTCL (Piano) in the sixties, I completed a BA degree at UNISA, majoring in History, History of Music (with distinction) and English in the seventies, and a BA (Honours) degree at UNISA in 1982.

After the deaths of my former singing teachers and life-long friends, Webster Booth (1984) and Anne Ziegler (2003), I wrote "Sweethearts of Song: A Personal Memoir of Anne Ziegler & Webster Booth" and several other books about the Booths. In 2010 I published a volume of short stories and a novel.

I retired from my position as Musical Director at St Andrew's Church, Kensington Johannesburg in 2005 after 13 years, and recently retired from teaching music. Since my retirement I have devoted more time to writing, editing and proof-reading, and have completed a number of assignments for my daughter's company, Typewrite-Proofreading.
