I love retail. In any form. There is no experience more satisfying than sourcing a good quality product, at the best possible price.

I have been in the accounting and finance industry for 4 years, but have always felt my heart has been in retail. While the business aspect of the finance world still interests me, and has given me the best experience in high pressure situations and in dealing with clients, my passion lies in the physical product. For me there could be no job more fulfilling than sourcing a beautiful and functional item that can make someone happy by merely looking at it.

My commerce degree and varied financial background would be a very strong asset in this position. It has provided me with a precise, logical and methodical approach that would be crucial in analysing market trends, and planning and managing sales. My analytical and meticulous approach to all my work has been a trademark of my career to date, and would be ideal in contract negotiations and inventory management.

I have excellent communication and language skills, and an impeccable professional manner due to being in the hedge fund industry and regularly dealing with high profile investors.
I am good with people and able to quickly strike up a strong and friendly working relationship with fellow employees and clients alike. This would be perfect for building solid vendor relations and working in close coordination with other teams.

I do not see my inexperience in retail as a weakness as I more than make up for it in my enthusiasm, intellect and passion. I thrive on doing a good job and impressing my colleagues and peers, and have the ability to learn quickly and work independently thereafter.

I believe I can truly excel within the the retail industry, and would relish the opportunity to learn the ropes of and entrench myself within the retail world.
