The latest Henley Passport Index shows that the South African passport remains stable in Q3, ranking 50th globally and occupying third place in the sub-Saharan Africa region - following Seychelles, ranked at 24 and Mauritius at 28 globally. Somalia, Libya, and Eritrea sit at the bottom of the index in Africa, each only able to access 35 or fewer destinations visa-free.

Nigeria's domestic tourism sector is expected to contribute N3.63bn to the country's GDP by the end of 2018, with international arrivals and employment expected to grow by 1.5% and 3.4% respectively by the end of the year - estimated at 1.8 million international arrivals and 3.4 million jobs. Omolara Adagunodo, managing director of Jumia Travel Nigeria stated this at a press conference in Lagos while overviewing the content of the 2018 Nigeria Hospitality Report.
