SA's unemployment up - hits 25,7%

More than 25% of South African workers are currently unemployed according to figures released by Statistics South Africa that says there are now 174 000 people looking for jobs in the country, reports Business Day.

The publication's report says that the number of discouraged work-seekers had risen to 16 000 people in the first six months of this year. These people are no longer looking for work and have given up hope of being employed.
