Ellies Connect comprises three different but integrated elements, namely: entertainment, hardware, and connectivity. Ellies Connect will showcase these choices available to the consumer, demonstrates their features and benefits to the customer and offers an end-to-end solution, including installations and ongoing customer service.
Through partnerships with Skyevine, a satellite service provider, and iBurst, this connectivity offering will have satellite broadband offered to consumers as an alternative to 3G and ADSL, providing connectivity to the Internet anywhere in the country.
Satellite broadband beams the Internet from a satellite to a dish installed at the subscriber's home. It delivers speeds of 10 megabits per second (mbps) downstream - about 39 times faster than a normal dial-up service. And, because the Internet connectivity is provided via satellite and does not rely on a terrestrial connection (such as a fixed-line service like dial-up or ADSL) or existent infrastructure, it delivers uninterrupted, fast, reliable Internet access at attractive rates.
This will see users able to access a world of internet services in areas with poor existing infrastructure and will assure fast, reliable connectivity service, no matter where they are based - be it in a large city, rural farm, mountaintop or the seaside.
The diverse ability of the product, through a partnership with iBurst, will have Ellies Connect users able to access fast Internet, Fax 2 Email, iSMS starter (a product that allows users to send SMSs directly from their computers), and a Voice Line Service (allowing users to make and receive calls from their computers or from a dedicated voice-over-Internet telephone).
There are innovative packages to suit individual or business needs, including hardware installation and data services.
Ellies Connect will shortly be able to offer consumers entertainment components that include Digital Terrestrial Television, (DTT) and Platco (a digital TV-to-home offering) along with all necessary accessories.
