Fair Cape Dairies wins at International Dairy Innovation Awards

The winners and finalists of the International Dairy Innovation Awards 2011 were announced on 18 October 2011 in Italy and Fair Cape Dairies had two of its new products chosen as two of the top three new dairy products.

This year's Awards attracted over 125 entries from 25 countries in 14 categories including products, packaging, marketing as well as environmental sustainability. The judging panel was made up of 10 industry experts and was chaired by American Bill Bruce, editorial director of the FoodBev Media group.

The awards were:

World's best new dairy drink (product: Fair Cape Rooiboost Rooibos drinking yoghurt shots)
World's best new functional dairy (product: Fair Cape Rooibos Yoghurt)

Both are highly regarded for their health benefits, with Rooiboost combining the recommended intake of six cups of Rooibos tea per day to aid and help fight cancer and, because of this, are the only yoghurt products in the world to be endorsed by CANSA.

"We are thrilled at this achievement. We have always believed in these products, however, to have them recognised as some of the best new dairy products in the world this year eclipsed our greatest expectations," says Louis Loubser, marketing director of Fair Cape Dairies.
