Join Glenfiddich for a 'scent-sational' experience

The world's most awarded whisky has partnered with master perfumer Tammy Frazer to combine the art of scent and smell in the form of a Glenfiddich sensory nosing station at the Skin Portraits exhibition, on display at The Taj gallery in Cape Town.

The exhibition will run from Wednesday, 20 March until Thursday, 28 March 2013, showcasing Tammy's new art collaboration with South African photographer Brett Rubin.

After spending six months exploring how raw materials are used to create perfumes containing notes found in human smells, Frazer decided her exhibition, Skin Portraits, will showcase scents inspired by the skin of nine prominent South Africans, including Noni Gasa, Dion Chang and ChianoSky. Tammy spent about an hour interviewing each subject before developing a landscape of South African skins, describing their history as a South African.

"Just as there is an art of nosing scents to create that perfectly balanced fragrance, so there is a unique art to unlocking the complex aromas and flavours of a premium single malt whisky. As Glenfiddich celebrates its 125 years of pioneering spirit, we recognised an array of synergies between the brand and Tammy Frazer's perfumes, from the craftsmanship along with the attention to detail and innovation. We believe that the Skin Portraits exhibition will allow people to truly experience the art of nosing both perfume and whisky from an unconventional point of view," comments Lauren Kuhlmey, marketing manager of Glenfiddich SA.

The exhibition encourages the public to visit the gallery and explore the connections between the memories and feelings the collaboration evokes.

Join Glenfiddich for a personalised whisky tasting and insight into scents and aromas that the premium Single Malt core range conjure up, on 20-21 March, from 5pm - 7:30pm. Visit the gallery from 22 March till 30 March, from 10am-6pm to discover the art of nosing (excludes Sunday).
