Chefs adds dinner to the menu

Previously offering only lunches, Chefs is now open for dinner during the week. Since the restaurant works according to a formula which excludes booking, waiters, menus and tipping, every morning three meal options are loaded onto the Chefs website so that guests can think about what they are going to eat before they arrive.

“Opening at night became imperative for us after we saw how well Chefs has been received since its recent opening. We’ve been thrilled to see people queuing at the door. But because our kitchen turns it around so fast, you never really have to wait! We’re also thrilled to have been granted a liquor license, allowing us to accompany our standout meals with thoughtfully paired wine options,” says Chefs manager, Campbell Stevenson.

The Wine List for Chefs was steered by head chef, Jenny Ward, who is formerly of Bizerca Bistrot. “We like to explore and support unusual varieties because it’s exciting for our patrons to try new things,” she explains.

Plans to expand globally

Chefs takes a directional approach to “fast” food by making fresh, chef-led meals available quickly in an accessible, affordable and non-fuss way. Chefs in Cape Town was launched as the prototype for a global chain of outlets. Each of the pending international Chefs will follow the same formula as the South African flagship, serving just three meals per day, prepared by a Chef of note.
