Talented young dancers from Cape Junior Ballet (CJB) will be performing at the Cultivaria Festival in Paarl on Sunday September 27. They will be presenting their acclaimed production, Danz-D-Lites, seen at the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown earlier this year.
Danz-D-Lites celebrates talented South African youth with a showcase of exciting new diverse works by various young South African choreographers, including classical, neo-classical and contemporary-inspired pieces.
The Cape Junior Ballet company, under the directorship of Dianne Cheesman, consists of 45 dancers between the ages of 11 and 17. They were selected from ballet studios in Cape Town and across the Western Cape to receive specialised training on-site at the UCT School of Dance in Rondebosch as well as performing opportunities in a professional environment such as the Cultivaria Festival.
Catch Danz-D-Lites at the Paarl Cultivaria Festival at the Tygerburger Hall, La Rochelle Primary School, this Sunday at 11am. Tickets are R70 and are available from the Cultivaria office. Call 021 872 9754 or email for more details.
