The alternative music channel, MK, is asking for submissions for its 2012 Music Video Project. Companies can pitch on behalf of any artist or band they believe complements MK's progressive channel strategy and bands and record companies can approach an SA production company to do so.
The top music video concepts will be fully commissioned by MK and featured on the DSTV channel.

The following should be taken into account when pitching for MK MVP 2012:
  • MK MVP pitches are only open to South African production companies and music groups/artists
  • The production company must be a registered company in the Republic of South Africa

The following information must be included in the pitch:
  • Music video treatment and creative with graphical and video references
  • Complete budget breakdown of proposed music video production
  • Production company profile
  • Artist /band profile and photo
  • An MP3 version of the selected song

Pitches will be selected based on the following criteria:
  • Treatment and creative of the music video
  • Budget and production value
  • Artist/band profile and song choice (the songs will be chosen by an MK panel)
  • How the music video concept complements the MK brand; how it speaks to the MK target market; and how well it fits within the channel's look and feel

The decision for the music video commissions will rest solely with MK and the decision will be final. The deadline for all pitches is 12 noon on 6 July, 2012.
