The Flamjangled Tea Party

8 Mar 2010 11:52Submit a commentBizLike
'The Tea Party' is a new outdoor festival, aiming to create an event firmly rooted in the eclectic, artistic and humorous side of life, a cultural mash-up weaved together with a glittering thread of freaky funk, booting world beats, jiving rock 'n roll, swinging jazz, up-beat salsa, big beating electro breaks, honky-tonk, tech-house, flamjangled folk, and anything that 'swings' or 'grooves'.
'The Tea Party' is first and foremost about an experience. Themed area's, dressing up, performance art, over the top theatrics, absurd activities and whatever else can be thrown into the mix to create a transformed reality where you can be whatever you want to be!

'The Tea Garden' is open from Saturday morning till late and hosts 'The Great Waltz' (a world record breaking attempt!!) a little after sunset. Sunday will host 'Le Picnic' as we continue to shift sideways through a relaxed daytime party aimed to uplift and leave you feeling fresh. Nighttime escapades on Saturday night take place in 'The Munged Bean Shebeen', and other smaller night time parties.

Tones, Vibrations, Lullabies will be supplied by artists; Hotwater, Moreira Project, Goodluck, Krushed & Sorted (AV), The Nomadic Orchestra, Red Five Point Star (Slovenia), Haydn Gardner Swing Band, Plan Be, The Jack Mantis Band, Kolo Novo Movie Band, Lo Rez, Carambola, 7ft Sound System, Derek Gripper, TobyTeapots, Fletcher, Honey B, Dusty, Spekta, Dubmaster China, Circuswing, Mix n Blend, Olly, Miles Sievwright, Will Travel, and more to be announced soon..

Expect rolling grassed fields for camping, plenty of parking space, beautiful dam for dipping, a fine selection of food stalls, bars, multiple entertainment zones and too much more then can mentioned here.

NIGHT TIME Once darkness descends and the nightly creatures come out, your options still twinkle. Saunter over to the Munged Bean Shebeen and get caught up in some late night shenanigans, or cut yourself a rug at the Pyjama Party.
THE GREAT WALTZ is your chance to be part of a World Record breaking attempt! Bring your partner, or grab one there, as an esteemed dance teacher shows us the moves to use as we attempt to break the world record for the largest coupled Waltz. (extra lessons will be given on Saturday during the day too)
