New Holland - Exploded ViewsNew Holland's second album Exploded Views is an "explosion" of eclectic sounds including pop, rock, electro and dance. Hailing from the Northern Suburbs the birthplace of most bands these days, one might not be mistaken for expecting a certain type of sound, but New Holland surprises with their latest offering. Sounding international and radio friendly Exploded Views is a most enjoyable and diverse listen. New Holland consists of TeeJay Tereblanche on vocals, Reyno Buckle on bass guitar and vocals, Gerdus Oosthuizen on rhythm guitar and vocals and Odendal Esterhuyse on drums. Recorded by TeeJay at his studio; CoffeeStainedVinyl and produced by internationally acclaimed recording engineer Neal Snyman the album is an impressive collection of tracks that take the listener on quite the sonic journey. They will lure you in with a pop-friendly track, next seduce you with a sweeping rock number, lull you with an emotional ballad and then slap you with some pure pop electro.
Stand out tracks include the incredibly catchy and layered This (is) home, the beautiful instrumental track Hiatus and the edgy and guitar-heavy Little Less Lonely. The album art is designed by Hanno van Zyl and elegantly captures the futuristic mood of the album, combining space imagery with technical astrological drawings, the CD booklet is unbounded and, effectively, each track and page becomes it's own little artwork.
