In Umtata, communities will be able to surf the internet and download images and content at Sasol Integrated Energy Centre (SICE) in Qunu. The SICE, which is run by a predominantly women-run cooperative has close proximity to a taxi rank and is very popular with the villagers.

Thokozane Fast Food, situated in Bush Buck Ridge, Mpumalanga, will be the second location to give communities free access to Wi-Fi. Both outlets are in the vicinity of shopping centres and schools allowing the community to combine their day-to-day activities with the opportunity to access the internet for business and educational purposes. Consumers will access the Wi-Fi for the duration of their time spent at the outlets only.

"Together with BT we are hopeful to bridge the digital divide and open the world of internet information to communities in the two areas. We believe that small business entrepreneurs will benefit from the host of information available online on how to run their business and school children will be able to access the internet if requiring additional information for their school projects," said David Visser, IT Director of Coca-Cola South Africa.

Coca-Cola South Africa and Coca-Cola Fortune aim to grow the project and install Wi-Fi to coolers in various parts of South Africa to help support and grow sustainable communities.
