While it is estimated that worldwide, buildings are responsible for a third of all carbon emissions, these alarming statistics has prompted South Africa to commit to reducing its carbon emission by 34% by 2020 and 42% by 2025.
The built environment contributes the bulk of these emissions and its being targeted by the government to contribute to this reduction.
