FPI announces winner of financial planner of the year

Jan-Carel Botha has been selected as the Financial Planner Of the Year 2012 by The Financial Planning Institute (FPI). Botha is a certified financial planner at Ultima Financial Planners.
Botha holds a B. Com degree in Economics (UNISA) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning (UFS). He has been a fee based professional financial planner throughout his career and has also been nominated in 2010 and 2011 as one of three finalists of this award.

He has been a guest speaker on numerous platforms to the larger public on various topics of financial planning which includes being a guest on Summit TV's show, The Summit Investor and also regularly features as studio guest of Wealth Through Financial Planning on local radio station, Impact radio 103FM. He is also regular guest speaker to corporate companies and members of pension and provident funds on specific issues of financial planning.

As the national winner, Botha is the official 2012 FPI and CFP professional brand ambassador effective as of 20 June 2012 and will receive the necessary media training to serve as the brand and industry spokesperson.

Shaun Latter, founder of Quaestor Wealth Management, and Colin Long from Consolidated, were the two other finalists.
