Gwarega Mangozhe is new CGCSA CEO

Gwarega Mangozhe will join Consumer Goods Council of South Africa (CGCSA) as its new CEO on 1 January 2012. He replaces Mncane Mthunzi who left to join Massmart in September 2011.

He joins the CGCSA from Internatio Mueller Chemicals Distribution (IMCD) South Africa, a wholly owned subsidiary of IMCD Group, a global specialty and food ingredients distributor headquartered in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, where he has served as a financial director since 2010.

Mangozhe is an experienced executive with in depth knowledge of mergers and acquisitions and supply chain optimisation. He is a graduate of the University of Cape Town and a qualified chartered accountant. He has an MBA and completed an Executive Development Programme both from the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS).

He previously held senior management positions in sales, operations and finance at Avis Fleet Services South Africa, a division of the Barloworld Group. He has extensive knowledge of the public sector as he has done consulting assignments with several government entities in the areas of compliance, strategy and organizational re-engineering.

The Board of the CGCSA thanks Mapule Ncanywa for her considerable contribution as Acting CEO and adds the successful annual conference is a testimony to her strong leadership.
