It's been a busy week behind boardroom doors with a number of new deals and acquisitions emerging in and around the retail industry:
Clover SA has just bought the Real Juice Co; Astral Foods has
sold its half share in a bakery business; the Dipula Income Fund plans to
purchase three shopping malls; and the Nkomamonta Organic Farmers' Cooperative has
signed a deal to supply organic vegetables to Pick n Pay.
On the research and indices front, NAB reveals
consumer shopping patterns are based on geographics, not demographics; the Food Price Monitor declares that it's
more expensive to shop in rural areas; the
Kagiso PMI stabilizes in May; and the
GDP rises in the first quarter of 2012.
Other interesting reads include the influence of the
CPA on property sales; the
risks of trading online; and how boys and their toys amount to a
R1.7 billion video gaming industry.
Rounding off this week are the trophies - congratulations to all the winners of the
SAPOA property development awards and the
Old Mutual Wine Trophy Show.
Have a great week!
