SA Fashion Week has come and gone but its presence will linger longer for those fashionistas who want to get their hands on designer treasures. Having proven so successful last year, the Pop Up Shops will hold pride of place in the Sandton City Fountain Court for three days this coming weekend. A somewhat more permanent environment however, is the newly opened Designer Capsule Collection at Edgars Melrose Arch. There designers such as Black Coffee, Clive Rundle, Cloche, and Colleen Eitzen, will form the core of the shop-in-shop structure which will find the designers themselves responsible for the management of their own areas and selection of designs sold therein. On a monthly basis, other designers will be included in the mix, rotating in groups of three. But alas, all good things eventually come to an end, and the capsule collection will run for an initial six-month period. Hopefully, if we show them enough love, the concept will lay down its roots.
