On the retail front, it appears that things are on the move with regard to Wal-Mart and Massmart as well as Pick n Pay and Franklins, and recent reports indicate that while the e-commerce market in south Africa is still small, it is growing... and growing. What is also interesting to see is that technology in the medical field, in the form of mobile phones, will not only help in getting medical care and advice to a far wider market, but the developing world, in the opinion of Jon Rubenstein, famed for playing an instrumental role in developing the iPod. So, the developing world may well lead the way.
