The festive season is coming, as are the predators who prey on you, so be careful. Absa has urged consumers to be extra vigilant and take extreme care in conducting their financial transactions. All the usual tips are there, but it's amazing how many people are victims every year; just one lapse in attention is enough for a criminal to pounce - and score. Care and safety on a different plane is safety in the work environment. Having someone on your staff trained to handle those odd emergencies such as fires, people falling down stairs (and during the end-of-year party, being equally adept at falling up them), cardiac arrest, and so on, is rather like having insurance on your household possessions... Nothing happens for years, and you wonder why you ever bothered - and then something does, and you breathe a sigh of relief. Quite apart from the fact that your company has to comply with the relevant rules and regulations, it makes sense to have staff trained anyway - and ensure that should they leave, replacements are trained - lives can depend on it.
