Woolworths and Netcare have decided to '
pull the plug' on plans for upmarket retail pharmacy outlets in Woolies stores after three pilot centres didn't take off as expected. Meanwhile, over the border, Zimbabwe's Meikles Ltd is looking for a cash injection to
bail out its TM Supermarkets. The group is currently in negotiations with Pick n Pay, which is considering purchasing more shares in the chain.
Back on home turf, 2010 FIFA World Cup mascot, Zakumi, is said to have some competition... by way of
Bongani, the Rainbow Nation Doll. Although not created just for World Cup purposes, Nelson Mandela Bay 'resident' Bongani has clearly got soccer fever and even comes with his own vuvuzela. But is he merely a fan or a real player? And so the question stands: who would win in a penalty shoot-out, Bongani or Zakumi?
