There is a new force on the SA retailing block with the
launch of the South African Retail Council, a body of the Consumer Goods Council, last week. It will be called upon to deal with non-competitive issues directly affecting the retail sector, specifically economic & legislative affairs and labour relations.
Meanwhile, back at the farm, the
Danisco Qualité Awards dinner took place on Thursday, awarding the
crème de la crème of the local dairy industry. A small cheesery turned out to be the big cheese of the evening when its goat milk creation scored an overall first place in the SA Dairy Championships. A number of the other award-winning cheeses will be on offer at the SA Cheese Festival, currently taking place at Bien Donné, near Cape Town. Organisers have also offered
free entry to the festival to any travellers still stranded in the Mother City due to the Icelandic volcano.
Happy Freedom Day tomorrow everyone!
