Have you paid a visit to the Eskom website? I did - and I was so thrilled, for there, plain to see, were some of the things that they hold dear... I thought I would share just three of them with you in case any of you think that our not-so-smart-Alec power utility might be short of a full set of cutlery. First of all, did you know "Eskom supports a smoke-free environment." Well, I happen to enjoy braais, but even I am becoming a little bored with three or four a week, and as you would readily appreciate, our home, like many, is not a "smoke-free" environment by any stretch of the imagination. Far from it! But there's more... Did you know "... we at Eskom are always looking for highly skilled professionals who want to make an impact." Now, that at least is a target they have met and exceeded! Man, have they succeeded, and made an impact on my life - and that of everyone I know. And finally... "Eskom's strong market position and forward-thinking strategy translates into a positive approach in partnering with our employees." (My italics - and I won't even dare to comment) So now you know... Eskom's heart is in the right place. May that thought keep you warm as you trip over the cat in the gloom, spilling your cold soup into your tepid cup of coffee. Remember... the farce is with you.
