My background includes serving as a waiter in a few hotels as well as restaurants. Most recently, I worked as a team leader (Supervisor) in Hyatt Capital Gate Abu Dhabi, as one of 2 team leaders handling 3 different outlets with the assistance of an assistant manager. I have come to learn a lot within this position and have grown as an individual and within my career. My responsibilities include but are not limited to handling customer complaints and assisting waiters where necessary, ensuring the outlets have enough equipment and stock for operation. Assigning side duties to the waiters and doing cashiering at the end of shift. Ensuring that waiters are adhering to company standards with regard to service. Training and coaching waiters on menu items and any new standards.
Previously, I worked within in a four star hotel as a trainee in food and beverage where I worked mainly in the conferencing department. I was responsible for setting up the conference centers as well as setting up for lunch and tea breaks. We also often had major functions for up to 600 guests in banquets.
In addition to this experience, I gained considerable people skills during my 6 month employment at a restaurant as head waiter, where I was responsible for Checking the restaurant before and after service as well as ensuring there was enough stock for operation and if not report to appropriate person.
