Tommy Strydom is acting group chief executive officer of Inyatsi Construction Group Holdings. Strydom joined Inyatsi in November 2009 managing contracts based in Swaziland and South Africa. At the end of 2012, he became managing director for the group's subsidiaries in Namibia as well as Mozambique. On 1 September 2016 he was promoted to group operations director, focusing on news markets, marketing, risk and services. He was recently promoted to group CEO.
His previous work experience, mainly in South Africa, include working for WBHO Construction Group for 10 years as site agent and later joining Lonerock Construction civil engineering group as contracts manager, specialising in civil engineering and roads and earthworks.
As managing director for Inyatsi Construction's Mozambique subsidiary, Strydom is responsible for reporting to management on the performance of the company, managing business, client relationship management, looking after and keeping the construction sites running, managing contract managers, accounts, and cash flow and reporting on the financial position of the subsidiary.
Some of his notable projects include 1999 WBHO Botswana project and working almost six years on Mbabane b pass from Oshoek. Another major milestone has not only been the growth of ICGH as a whole but for Strydom, it has been instrumentally being involved in turning Inyatsi Construction in Mozambique into the company it is today.
