Will SA's tourism brand succeed like Sydney or flop like Beijing?
SA needs to know the landmarks and places where it shines and focus on a tourism solution that will showcase all of these different areas in the best light. And of course, there will be people who would jump at the opportunity to visit all that SA has in storage if they only could afford to, with or without any advertising from the tourism ministry!

Open the door and relish new, smart home world
As we evolve within the digital age, mankind is getting lazier by the day. A smartphone has been helping make our daily activities like communication, work, and studies much easier and now we are looking at a smart home. I wonder what does a smart housing unit truly offer in terms of benefits and advantages and do we really need one? I guess it is not just a matter of want, but our needs should be considered as well.

Warehouse-in-a-Box to enhance pharmaceutical distribution network
In the supply chain network, it's important to have enough points of storage across the distribution channels so that you are able to speed up the time that it takes for your product to get to your delivery point. If you've got enough items in storage at the closest warehouse to your customer, the faster you can deliver your product and the happier your customers are really going to be! That's the best solution you can hope for isn't it?

Five reasons why you should move your business to Dubai
Considering that I've been thinking about expanding my self storage business, perhaps this could be a very interesting consideration. I don't think I would be very enthusiastic about moving overseas with my fledgling company just yet, but who knows! Maybe they have a huge demand for self storage in Dubai...

Four tips to make your business travelling time productive
I'm sure that commuting might seem like an absolute waste of time, but I find that riding with my self storage units to my customers' houses gives me an opportunity to think about how I can ask my customers for feedback. I have some of my greatest ideas when I'm sitting at the back of the truck and talking to my employees too!

Understanding pricing
I think every business owner has struggled with pricing issues - even I have, when it comes to putting a price to my services of renting out self storage units. At the end of the day, the whole process is a learning experience and you learn to adjust your dollars and cents to reflect how much you think the value of your product is changing.

Growthpoint developing steel manufacturing, galvanising facility for Maxishare
Such a big and upcoming facility is a real achievement for the company! It's hard enough for me to manage my self storage facility in Melbourne South as it is, so for me to envision expansion and adding to the number of locations that my business can reach to here is something that I'll only consider in the far future!

Insurance of sectional title units
Running my own self storage company in Melbourne South, I can tell you that there are A LOT of people who automatically assume that the company is in charge of insurance of their items in storage. But that's why we make it absolutely clear that we will not be liable for the items inside the storage unit and people have to get their own content insurance.

How under-investing in warehouse lighting could lead to reputational, financial disaster
It's hard to imagine that companies really need good lighting solutions inside what should be a warehouse that's meant for items to just sit in storage at. But when I really think about it, every minute that's lost trying to find items on those storage racks because you can't see well enough to figure out what you're looking at will really cost the business a lot of money. So yeah, maybe paying a higher price for better lighting might be a better option hey?

The modern commercial facility builds on standards
Every facility needs a specific system to ensure ready security at all times. For facilities that operate around the clock like self storage, a solid integration framework would help to ensure no hiccups would happen even without human intervention.

E-library launches in Africa to connect students
I really won't be surprised if all warehousing situations will be automated soon - it's really the only cost-effective solution to managing all of that stuff in storage! The alternative is manual cataloguing or having a whole fleet of people walking up and down those aisles managing items on the storage racks by hand isn't it? Technology is going to play a really big part in helping companies to save money now.

Warehouse 2020: adapting to e-commerce growth
What is happening with the logistics and distribution industries is that there is so much demand for the delivery of items from door to door. People love ordering things online and that means someone has to take care of the solution which brings those products from the storage warehouses, across the seas and to them who sit at home! I'm really not surprised that there is so much more potential for all of these warehousing companies to expand!

Pick n Pay investing in distribution
It's important for a business to see itself keep moving forward and implementing more solutions to expand its reach across its chosen landscape. I think that I would like to do the same for my self storage facility to - it's really about building yourself to a stage where you're able to grow and add to your assets so that you can service more customers and repeat the cycle again!

Turning the warehouse from cost centre to differentiator
I run a small self storage business in Melbourne South and while we don't actually inventory everything inside our customers' self storage, I suppose I have a little bit of an insight as to how the bigger warehouses work. I personally think that it's difficult enough to manage what goes into a small self storage unit like this, so to manage a big warehouse, you really do need to have quite a fair amount of technology and assistance to make sure everything works and processes smoothly!

US fund seeks court injunction against Samsung merger
There are many units that each individual stakeholder owns which means that a simple decision like handing over some stocks and shares would need a lot of time to discuss. This is due to the intense decision-making process that is to factor in all the possibilities of a certain issue that has arose. Even if one party deems a certain business movement to be for the better of the company, that does not necesarily mean every other involved parties need to agree. A mutual agreement is crucial especially for a large organization that has been around in the industry for many years now.
