With the arrival of Mike Perk, World Wide Creative's UK Director, the South African operation has received a significant boost.
World Wide Creative began offering web marketing service in 2002 and the service has been growing from strength to strength. Mike Perk is a well-known speaker in the UK and has written numerous articles for European publications on the topic. He is also going to be contributing to the World Wide Creative news blog ‘The Heavy Chef Project' [http://www.theheavychef.com] with regular articles on online marketing.
Perk arrived in South Africa in March 2007 to expand the South African web marketing department. Since then he has been visiting World Wide Creative's portfolio of clients, presenting at workshops, and training the team on all aspects of web marketing.
"There is massive potential for growth in South Africa," says Perk. "The market here is only beginning to wake up to the real power of the internet, and there are many opportunities for companies willing to dip their toes in the ever-widening pool of the world wide web."
Perk was one of the speakers at the successful University of Cape Town's Nomadic Marketing course, and is starting to warm up to the South African public speaking arena. "The online environment here is really creative," says Perk. "We're examining the potential of so many aspects of the web.
"Things like Social Media, social networking and viral marketing provide massive opportunities for companies. It's like an open canvas – but it's happening quickly. The market here is moving fast, and I'm seeing a major surge in internet awareness in this country. It's exciting stuff!"
