Meerendal Wine Estate, 22 July 2010:
"The SA Terroir Wine Awards honour the wines which truly portray South Africa's different wine growing areas, making it the most exclusive wine competition on the international scene," says Dave Hughes, South Africa´s renowned international wine expert and judge.
Taking into consideration the unique wines represented at these awards, as well as the regions in which the grapes are grown and the wines are made, ECHO came up with the right mix of indigenously luxurious décor, complete with a distinct coastal feel.
Table settings included a bespoke collection of indigenous botanical displays, gorgeous stone and ivory linen and great finishes such as fynbos sprigs delicately tied to napkins.
The award-winning wines were artfully displayed in glass-encased "lanterns" and guests were later given the opportunity to taste the wines accompanied by a carefully selected menu. Master of Ceremonies, SABC radio's Johan Rademan, added great humour and a genuine feel to the event which the record number of guests and media enjoyed.
The sunset, sweeping bedouin tent and lounging pockets created the perfect setting for guests to mingle and savour the remnants of yet another successful Terrior Award event.
