Unicef and Momentum Insure team up to protect and help keep children safe
Unicef South Africa and the National Department of Social Development have partnered with Momentum Insure to add youth-friendly activities to safe parks. The first activation took place in Klipspruit Safe Parks Centre last week to highlight the safety concerns of Soweto residents, especially those affecting children and to demonstrate the transformative power of safe parks. Momentum Insure staff members planted vegetable gardens, painted the park's fence, and incorporated painted handprints of all participants and kids, as well as played jenga, monopoly and chess with them....

How Gertrude Fefoame is advocating equality for people with disabilities
At just 10 years old, Gertrude Fefoame began experiencing vision loss. Four years later, she went blind. Living in Ghana, she endured stigma and discrimination which people with disabilities are regularly subjected to. “There is a misconception in most parts of Africa that one would have a disability as a result of one's ill deeds,” Fefoame says. She internalised this prejudice, feeling gradually isolated. But after attending a school for people with blindness and meeting others with similar experiences, she gained new confidence and belief in herself. Now, Fefoame has dedicated her life to making the world more accessible for people with disabilities....

Leoka Engineering and Anglo American ran a Winter Drive on 15 June. Rustenburg's Bothibelelo Primary School, Khayalethu Secondary School, Motlhare Mokaute Secondary School, B.F. Morake Primary School and Monakato Primary School received winter uniforms to prevent students from missing classes due to bad weather. Learners also received new school shoes and tracksuits.
