Innovation in educational technology
We are a number of heads of digital products across our full range of work: primary schools, high schools and post schools, supported by product owners, developers, UX designers and test engineers. We help shape development proposals and plans, then design and build, or source, platforms and technologies to make them a reality.

The job
Working under the heads, you will research and assess appropriate learning technology platforms and products for use by Pearson South Africa, and conduct scoping, requirements analysis, system design, documentation and training of internal users on product functions and features. You may be involved in some UAT and user testing from time to time. These activities will assist all the members of the product teams to deliver innovative educational technology solutions. 

Must haves: skills, experience, knowledge, interests

• At least 4 years of working in software development, with two years in a similar role
• Good knowledge of online, mobile and general application and system development
• Systems analysis experience, specifically of multi-platform solutions
• Experience working with business and technical teams in different time zones and cultures
• Proven ability to elicit requirements, write user stories and use visual communication techniques
• Proven ability to think logically and apply structured thinking and modelling to problems
• Some experience with UAT, user testing and usability testing
• Ability to: Cope with several projects running in parallel; Use initiative and work proactively; Work professionally at all levels; Facilitate technical discussion within groups; Learn new skills and technologies quickly; Work collaboratively and share learning with others
• Decisive and goal-oriented when demanded by project requirements
• Flexible and positive attitude
• Good time management and ability to prioritise tasks
• Good communication skills
• Experience of working within a fast-changing environment
• Knowledge and/or interest in future technology trends
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments preferred
