Native VML participated in the recent one-day shutdown of more than two dozen VML offices worldwide on 14 September 2017. During its annual foundation day, Native VML offices support non-profit organisations.
FCB Joburg MD Thabang Skwambane founded Aluwani in 2007 when he cycled unsupported from Johannesburg to Kilimanjaro, and then summited the mountain. Warren Handley and Tom David are former Aluwani interns from SA walking the same distance in reverse to mark the 10th anniversary of that trip. As they walk, they reach out to the rural communities to talk about the importance of early childhood development.
The South African Council for the Architectural Profession, (SACAP) in partnership with the Khora Group, lent a helping hand to Kgothalang Primary School in Benoni this past Mandela Day.

Diageo SA staff members use the funds that they collect in their VEO Community Fund, an employee-led charitable initiative that is funded by their personal contributions from their monthly salaries and matched by the company, to assist in similar activities throughout the year....
To honour the legacy of former President Nelson Mandela, the Green Building Council of South Africa (GBCSA) spent its 67 minutes on Mandela Day with underprivileged and displaced children and families in Johannesburg and Cape Town.
McCain Food South Africa dedicated its 67 minutes for Mandela Day to planting vegetable gardens at the Johannesburg Children's Home and the St Francis Care Centre.
This Mandela Day, KFC staff members, along with NGOs, and other stakeholders spent the day volunteering and participating in fundraising initiatives linked to its Add Hope feeding initiative and the charities it supports. The KFC head office in Johannesburg ran a can collection drive that led to the packing of 720 boxes of food for JAM; one of the 137 NGOs that Add Hope supports.
