    Zain Malawi enters into partnership with NAMISA

    Zain Malawi has entered into a three-year long partnership agreement with Malawi's National Media Institute of Southern Africa (NAMISA). Under the partnership agreement the company will annually sponsor the management of some activities to mark World Press Freedom Day (WPFD).

    “The agreement is worth K6m split into tranches of K2m per year. This includes the sponsorship of the Business and Economics Journalist of the Year category (print and electronic),” according to the agreement.

    NAMISA chairperson Brian Ligomeka signed on behalf of NAMISA while Fayaz King, Zain Malawi MD signed on behalf of Zain.

    Malawian journalists commemorated World Press Freedom day on Friday, 1 May in Lilongwe under the theme “free, independent media vital for elections”.

    “The theme was chosen bearing in mind that we are in an elections year and media plays a crucial role in building an informed electorate,” explained Ligomeka.
