Up the Creek together with Bacardi Festival floating your way soon

So, according to a whole bunch of learned folks who have done a fair amount of study into the science of floating, this is what happens when a human being floats in water: muscle soreness and tension is relieved, lactic acid dissolved, the excretion of cortisol (the anxiety hormone) repressed and a nice healthy dose of endorphins released into the bloodstream.

Sound good? Now you have one more reason to pack up your lilo, pool noodle, inner tube or Polyotter and join us at the Up the Creek together with Bacardi Festival for a weekend of water-bound fun in the sun on the banks of the Breederiver outside of Swellendam.

From 2 - 5 February 2012 festivalgoers can look forward to a well-run festival that makes the most of its singular venue by providing revellers the option to watch bands from the river at the MK-sponsored River Stage. This might actually be cooler than the time my mother told me 'smirk' wasn't a word and I got to show her the dictionary entry.

To up the ante, BOS Iced Tea is sponsoring the much anticipated "Anything that Floats" competition on the Saturday. Enter your float in the competition and stand a chance to win one of the following categories*:

Best Looking Float

The Float with the "Mostest" (i.e. the float with the most people crammed onto it)

The Most Romantic Float

So, basically, it is going to a stupid amount of fun. There is a limited amount of tickets available, however, so buy one soon to avoid disappointment. Tickets are available from www.ticketbreak.co.za or directly from the Up the Creek together with Bacardi Festival Facebook page.
