Food Hospitality World exhibition debuts in South Africa

One of the largest global brands in the food and hospitality industry, Food Hospitality World, is coming to South Africa for the first time and world-renowned, Michelin-starred Italian Chef Carlo Cracco is helping this new tradeshow take the African market by storm. Food Hospitality World takes place at the CTICC from Monday, 26 May, until Wednesday, 28 May, just ahead of the Cape Town Good Food & Wine Show.

This world-renowned, exclusively trade-orientated exhibition, is based on the two very successful fairs which take place in Milan - TuttoFood and Host. The organisers, Fiera Milano, the largest trade fair organiser globally, combined these two brands to create Food Hospitality World which has taken place successfully in Brazil, China, India and Turkey to date. This year, their focus is on Africa.

The South African Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has confirmed this event as an anchor for its South African inward buyer programme 2014, with buyers already confirmed from the Middle East - The United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Arman; North Africa including Egypt, Algaria and Tunisia; Asia - namely Singapore, Malaysia, India and Thailand and then from Pan African territories including Nigeria and Ghana.

One hall of Food Hospitality World Africa will remain and integrate into the Good Food & Wine Show Cape Town, and this would be a perfect platform for the DTI to showcase selected South African products.

Fiera Milano, which runs Food Hospitality World in several other international markets, recognises that the African continent holds huge potential for the hospitality market. Because it is both expensive and difficult to navigate a true course of new business throughout Africa, Food Hospitality World offers a platform for the sector to connect, communicate and to do business.

Fiera Milano Director Louise Cashmore says: "To date, there has never in South Africa been a truly global exhibition of this calibre with a guaranteed focussed buyer networking program. If you're interested in growing your local market; expanding into Africa or going abroad, you cannot afford not to be at this exhibition."

Food Hospitality World 2014 (FHW) has an impressive line-up of features and dedicated activities for each specific product sector; a series of interactive zones - The Lion's Den; Foods from around the world Theatre; The Tasting Hub; Halal World and The Gelato World - plus a programme of workshops and conferences on technical issues.

Forty percent of the exhibitors are from international markets - including the USA, Europe and the Far East. The exhibition is focussed on premium products for the HORECA (hotel, restaurant and catering) sector including, food, beverage and hospitality.
