For many South Africans, a braai is about more than sharing a meal. It is a place where families and friends connect, stories are exchanged, and traditions are passed from one generation to the next. White Star’s participation at the celebration reflects this enduring role, creating a space where consumers can come together and experience the brand through food, entertainment and interactive activities.
Visitors to the activation can look forward to a variety of activities throughout the day, including interactive games, competitions, live entertainment and branded giveaways. One of the key highlights will be the White Star Dance Battle, inspired by the brand’s latest television commercial, designed to bring people of all ages together through music, movement and fun.
Hosted by renowned South African dancer, choreographer and television personality Bontle Modiselle (now Moloi), the Dance Battle will invite attendees to participate in energetic dance-offs, with prizes awarded for creativity, enthusiasm and crowd engagement.
The activation draws inspiration from White Star’s latest television commercial, which celebrates the familiar sounds that form part of everyday South African life, from the whistle of a boiling pot and the crackle of braai coals to the lively conversations shared between family and friends.
“Heritage Day gives us an opportunity to celebrate the traditions, people and shared experiences that continue to shape who we are as South Africans. The braai is one of those traditions that transcends generations and communities. Through our participation in Big Save Braai Day, we are celebrating that spirit of togetherness while creating a space where people can come together through food, culture and shared moments," says Jonita Cuff, marketing manager for White Star.
In addition to the on-site experiences, consumers will have opportunities to capture and share their Braai Day moments through dedicated photography and social media content opportunities.
Through its participation, White Star aims to strengthen meaningful connections with consumers while celebrating the traditions, flavors and cultural experiences that make South African heritage unique.
The activations forms part of White Star’s ongoing commitment to bringing people together through shared meals, shared experiences and memorable moments that celebrate community.
