ENTRY REQUIREMENTS TO STUDY AT AFDA: To qualify to study a Higher Certificate programme, you need to have matriculated with a National Senior Certificate (South African Grade 12 / Matric) with a Diploma / Higher Certificate pass. Should you not have the above, you may be able to qualify to complete and pass the AFDA Entrance Exam. To qualify to study a 3-year degree programme at AFDA, you need to have matriculated with a National Senior Certificate (South African Grade 12 / Matric) with a Bachelor’s pass. You may enter an AFDA degree programme if you have successfully completed the AFDA Higher Certificate programme. Entry into the Honours Degree a relevant undergraduate qualification (NQF LEVEL 7) from an accredited institution: Bachelor’s Degree / Advanced Diploma Entry into the Postgraduate Diploma in Innovation a relevant undergraduate qualification (NQF LEVEL 7) from an accredited institution: Bachelor’s Degree / Advanced Diploma Entry into the Master of Fine Arts programme: A completed AFDA Honours Degree (NQF LEVEL from an accredited or 10 years relevant experience in the industry with key responsibilities; and pass a formal assessment of your discipline. AFDA’s alternative routes to access degree studies are: Should you not qualify to enter the AFDA degree programmes right away, you can successfully complete one of the AFDA Higher Certificate Programmes giving you the required NQF5 needed to enter degree studies the following year. The AFDA Entrance Exam, facilitated by NOME and final results approved by AFDA Senate, is for those candidates who have passed matric; and RPL from other relevant and equal qualifications.
