Making the most of 2010

Western Cape craft producers are planning on using their crafting skills to help football fans remember more of the Western Cape than who scored the winning goal in the final. The crafters will be drawing their inspiration from their own province - from Robben Island to Table Mountain, and all point between and beyond, to create souvenirs that football fans will buy as remembrances of their trip to the Western Cape. At least they will be genuine local products, please - unlike the small vinegar bottle or whatever I picked up many years ago as a craft market in KwaZulu-Natal. When I turned it over, it proudly proclaimed to be a fine product from that island off the coast of China - Taiwan. And no, I didn't buy it.
