Well, the news is out - Pick 'n Pay is revamping their image... new logo, new colours, new fonts. I must say, I didn't have anything against the existing logo
et al, but then I'm not that artistically inclined, so changing over to a 'more modern' logo pretty much goes straight over my head; in most cases I couldn't explain the difference between a 'modern' logo and a 'dated' if my life depended on it. That aside, in the service area there is one innovation that I reckon will prove popular in the stores... If there is one person ahead of you in queue for the cashier, the manager will, apparently, now open another till, and they'll continue doing so until all the tills are open. Now
that should speed things up. I have only one dream... that whoever dreamed that one up, would hug their local bank manager warmly by the throat and encourage him/her to do the same in banks; too often, when you go to a bank at lunchtime to do some business, half of the teller points are closed. And that makes people like me say naughty four-letter words like 'Gosh' and 'Darn'.
