Frieze Films is fast being singled out as the production service company of choice for international companies wanting to shoot in South Africa. Ridley. Scott and Associates (RSA), one of the largest production houses worldwide in both blockbuster movies and commercials, recently selected Frieze Films to service a commercial for UK cellular network - Orange.
The commercial was shot in Johannesburg and directed by Tim Royes with Pete Shuttleworth as the executive producer.
According to Frieze Films executive producer, Neil Roberts: "RSA selected Frieze Films based on a recommendation from one of their directors. They needed to know that they were in good hands and that they were being given the best service and crew that South Africa has to offer. They were also pleasantly surprised by the great locations that Johannesburg has to offer as most international commercials are shot in Cape Town."
Frieze Films also recently serviced a commercial for Filmgraphics, Australia for client - Hotels.com. The commercial involved an eight day shoot with internationally acclaimed director, David Deneen at the top hotels in Cape Town.
Anna Fawcett, executive producer for Filmgraphics said: "Frieze Films is one of the most professional companies I have ever worked with. Every detail of the production gets their utmost care - from travel arrangements to finding the right locations, talent and crew. Cape Town is spectacular - a visual feast for the eyes. One can't help but be inspired. All in all, one of the highlights of our careers."
Roberts adds: "It is unusual for an Australian production company to shoot in South Africa as they are in direct competition to us. However, we were able to do the job for less money, with an excellent cast and could guarantee access to some of the top hotels in the world."
