Spotting top-paid tech jobs

ITWeb's annual IT Salary Survey starts, calls for input from tech professionals.
Technology news publisher ITWeb is calling on South African IT professionals to participate in its 14th annual IT Salary Survey.

The 2012 ITWeb/CareerWeb Salary Survey runs online for three weeks, from 25 September to 16 October.

This year's survey focuses exclusively on salary trends, which makes it quicker and easier to complete than previous surveys..

Having tracked local IT salary and career trends for a decade and a half, the survey is established as the industry's only independent IT salaries reference guide.

The survey has always attracted a large and credible sample, drawn from ITWeb's readership base of more than 80 000 monthly unique local readers and CareerWeb's user base of over 35 000 jobseekers. About 4 000 valid responses were received last year, and the goal is to attract an even bigger sample size this year.

Participation in the survey will enable IT employees to compare their salaries to the industry average and identify the most sought-after and best-paid IT skills.

The survey also assists employers of tech skills to set market-related salaries and determining appropriate package structures, attract and retain top IT talent.

An advisory panel of remuneration, career management, recruitment and skills development specialists will provide expert commentary on the survey findings.

Release of results

The detailed results will be published online on ITWeb ( and CareerWeb ( later in the year, while a summary will appear in print as a special feature in ITWeb's iWeek magazine. The PDF version of the report will be available for free download.

Participants automatically enter into a draw to win a Nespresso coffee machine. Click here to take the survey.
