Montjane named Sportswoman of the Year

Montjane was also named the SA Sportswoman of the year with a disability at the recent SA Sports Awards, and earlier this year she was honoured at the Gauteng Sports Awards as Sportswoman of the Year with a disability.

Three awards

Paralympian Montjane can boast a successful year in 2013. She won three significant SA sporting awards and 33 titles to date on the international wheelchair tennis tour. "I believe it comes down to hard work, dedication and the support I receive from my sponsor, Airports Company South Africa, my family and the tennis federation," she said.

"Airports Company South Africa is proud of its association with Wheelchair Tennis South Africa. We once again congratulate Kgothatso on her achievements at the Spar G Sport Awards. The company is especially proud to have partnered with WTSA to develop and grow players like Montjane from grassroots programmes to becoming the best in the world," says Bongani Maseko, managing director of Airports Company South Africa. "In line with our maxim of 'Moving People, Changing Lives' Airports Company South Africa is committed to the disability sector through our involvement with sporting organisations like WTSA as well as the Outeniqua Wheelchair Challenge. We look forward to seeing the athletes continue to grow the sport and break records," Maseko concludes.
