According to Fin24, Gold One International announced on Wednesday that it has obtained an interim interdict from the Labour Court declaring industrial action that began at its Cooke 4 Shaft at Ezulwini near Carletonville on October 1 to be unprotected and unlawful.
Employees have also been interdicted from participating in the industrial action‚ which is in contravention of a two year wage agreement signed in July 2012.

Gold One enforces a policy of 'no work - no pay' at the mine and management has warned that employees who continue to ignore various company's instructions and requests to return to work will face disciplinary action that may lead to their dismissal. An ultimatum to return to work was presented to employees on both 1 and 2 October‚ and has been circulated within the operation's hostels, Fin24 says.
