Chas Everitt property group supports Mandela Day

The Chas Everitt International property group has committed its support to Mandela Day, yesterday, 18 July, by giving away 1 000 warm winter blankets to various organisations around the country that care for needy people.

"This is just the start," says group MD Bery Everitt. "We feel very strongly about the underlying message of the '67 Minutes' campaign, which is that every individual should do their part to change the world into a better place and not leave it up to someone else. Consequently we have asked all our offices and agents to commit further to this campaign and do something positive themselves for their communities, if not actually on Mandela Day, at least in the month of July."

Some of the organisations that will benefit from the blanket donation will be the Port Elizabeth Association for the Aged, Marang House in Northcliff, Johannesburg, which cares for seriously ill children; the Moreglans old age home in Krugersdorp; the Ann Harding Chesire Home in Randburg; the Christway Children's Home in Turffontein, Johannesburg; and the Coronation Park camp near Roodepoort.
