Tourism Minister, Marthinus van Schalkwyk says that consumers want to know that the business they support are not damaging the environment, neglecting or exploiting the local communities but are making a positive contribution to them.

He urged South Africans to take care of the natural heritage this country provides as it provides intrinsic economic value in the form of tourism assets.

The City of Cape Town has invited tourism operators to take part in this initiative.
