    Kulula Airline offers travel insurance

Ross Waterford, consumer lines manager at ACE Insurance, points out that spending a little extra to provide for the unknown is becoming a way of life. "We don't drive cars without insurance nor do we run the risk of not insuring our household goods. The same applies to travelling. For a few extra Rands, you can make sure that on every trip you take your baggage, valuables and time are protected with a simple, easy to buy and very affordable policy."

    Buy insurance online

Adding an insurance policy to your ticket is a simple one-click process. "All you have to do is choose your flights as per normal. When you get to the 'Add traveller details and extras' menu, select 'Travel Insurance' and you're flying with peace of mind," explains Heidi Brauer, executive manager of group marketing for Comair.

Waterford says the domestic travel insurance solution is designed for ultimate ease of use which extends from buying the cover to claiming. "A quick summary of the benefits include cover for flight cancellation and interruption, baggage loss or damage, theft for up to R10 000 and delay for R500 per 3-hour delay period; flight delay for R500 per 3-hour delay period and personal accident for R25 000.This cover will cost the passenger R26 per flight." Waterford stresses that this is only a summary of the benefits, with full policy information available from kulula's website.
